it possible to travel for free? Sure it is but only after
some hard work.
That work can include searching on-line, searching your wallet,
your frequent flyer account, your mail and your mind. So, how
do you find free travel on line? It is so prevalent, I just
feel like a mosquito in a nudist colony... I know what to do

That internet/world wide
web work can turn up things like: free companion tickets,
free connections from hubs to other
cities (mostly Europe and Asia travel). You will also find
free miles to put in your account leading to free travel faster
and other opportunities we will discuss as we go along in our
travels through these pages. Free companion tickets are an
excellent way to cut travel costs virtually in half but there
are some important things to look for as not all "free" companion
tickets are a good value. By that I mean if you have to book
a first class ticket to get a free coach ticket you are loosing
money. That first class ticket can cost more than five coach
tickets on the same flight will cost. So simply, you are looking
to do a mini "cost/benefit" analysis. If MC (marginal
cost) exceeds MR (marginal return) don't buy it! And if you
are like me and need it even more simply put, if the cost of
two coach tickets from A to B on the days you want to fly is
cheaper than the "qualifying ticket" needed to get
the free one, where does the free part come in? Isn't this

Segment and class of service freebees:
Another kind of "free" ticket
requires you to fly a certain number of segments or fly a
certain route in business
class or higher. I like the segment freebies but again, unless
you pay for first class all the time, why would you want to
fly coach and, why are you reading this guide to traveling
more cheaply? Again, the segment free tickets show up from
time to time on the web and, I have seen them require as few
